After spending a
year as lecteur d'anglais in the Service Commun d'Étude des Langues
Vivantes Appliquées (SCELVA) of
l'Université de Rennes I, I received my formal training in the Dept. of French and Italian at The Ohio State University. During my graduate
studies, I taught French language and literature at both Ohio State and
at Brown University (Dept. of French
Studies) and I taught English as a Second Language at English Language Center in Boston, MA during
summer vacations. Upon completing my doctorate, I took a one-year
position at the University of Rhode Island
(Dept. of Modern and Classical
Languages and Literatures), taught at the
University of Missouri (Dept.
of Romance Languages and Literatures) for two years and then came to
Villanova (Dept.
of Modern Languages and Literatures) in 2003. When
possible, my upper-level courses are cross-listed with the
Honors Program, the
Gender and Women's Studies Program, and the
Africana Studies Program.
