Sometimes, we run with others who don’t quite meet the criteria for being a Second Winder. We must pay tribute to these dedicated runners also! Thank you for running with us and motivating us and celebrating the finish line with us! We can inspire each other and when you hit 40, you can be a Second Winder too! In the meantime, meet our friends:
· Iain Johnston from the Faster than Mommy Running Club Iain is Jackie’s son and he ran his first 1 mile at the 2006 Run for Scouting with me. He came in 28th. Then we did the Malvern Library 1 Mile and he finished 23rd.! · Chris Johnston from the Eat My Dust Running Club Chris is Jackie’s husband and ran his first 5K at the 2007 Run for Scouting. Although he did not train for it, he did well: 45th overall and 5th in his age group. Although he’s over 40 now, he can’t join our club because someone has to watch the kids! · Luke Barcalow (aka Gookey Bobo) from the Baby Bobo Running Club Luke is Deb’s little boy and makes his Mommy and Daddy so proud. Luke ran his first race on September 8, 2007—the Eagleview YMCA 1 Mile Family Fun Run. Way to go, Luke! Mommy doesn’t think she’ll be running when Luke is old enough to join the Second Winders but I think she will—just in the Last Leg Running Club. · Katie Whoriskey, from the Breaking Wind Running Club Katie is Jackie’s sister and she proudly finished third from last in the Out & Back Party Run. Way to go, Katie! It can only get better from here. Katie also has a website dedicated to her. · Laura Brochet, from the Breaking Wind Running Club Laura is friends with Katie. Sorry, Laura, but since you didn’t come up with a name for your running club, I put you in with the Breaking Wind Club. Let me know if you come up with something better! Laura ran the Out & Back Party run too!
